While shooting these pictures of May’s outfit, I noticed these posters on the wall saying ‘My outfit is NOT an invitation’ and ‘Stop harassing women in the street’. These are part of an art series called ‘Stop Telling Women to Smile‘, a great initiative by Tatyana Fazlalizadeh. Street harassment is a serious issue and I think street art is a great communication mean in public spaces to raise awareness and address issues like these.
I love how these pictures turned out. They were taken in Rotterdam, but the combination of brick, graffiti and the fire stairs make it look like we were in Brooklyn, New York.
